How It Works
A plain-language explanation of every aspect of North Game World — from how to start a game to what virtual coins actually are.
Starting a game
Visit northgameworld.com, find the game you want to play in the games section, and click Play Now. The game opens in your browser. There is no loading screen, no registration prompt, and no tutorial you have to sit through. Instructions are available inside each game via a How to Play button.
That is the complete process. Nothing is hidden behind a signup wall.
What virtual coins are
Virtual coins are numbers displayed in the game interface. They go up when you do well and serve as a way to track your session. They cannot be spent, transferred, exchanged, or converted into money or any other item of value.
Coins exist in your browser memory during a session. If you create a guest profile (explained below), your coin total is saved in localStorage between sessions. If you do not create a profile, coins reset when you close the game.
Virtual coins have no real-world value. That is not a disclaimer — it is the design.
Open any game page
No account needed. Click directly to Memory Match, Block Puzzle, or Tile Matcher from the home page.
Play at your own pace
All games have pause functionality. Play for two minutes or two hours. There are no session limits and no time pressure built into the platform.
Your score is saved locally
Each game saves your personal high score in your browser's localStorage. This means your score persists across sessions without any account or server involved.
Optionally create a guest profile
If you want a nickname and a coin balance to track across all games, create a guest profile. It takes one field — your nickname. Everything is stored in your browser only.
Guest profiles explained
The guest profile system is entirely optional and entirely local. When you create a profile, you choose a nickname. The system assigns you 10,000 virtual coins as a starting balance. Your nickname and coin balance are stored in your browser's localStorage — a standard browser feature that keeps small amounts of data on your device.
No data is sent to any server. No email address is needed. If you clear your browser storage or use a different device or browser, the profile will not carry over. You can reset or delete your profile at any time from the home page.
High scores and progress
Each game stores a separate high score in localStorage. Memory Match stores high scores per difficulty level. Block Puzzle and Tile Matcher each store a single best score. These scores are visible within each game and persist between sessions on the same browser.
There is no leaderboard. Scores are private and local to your device.
Browser compatibility
All games are built with standard web technologies and work in any modern browser including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, and their mobile equivalents. The games use requestAnimationFrame for smooth animation and CSS transforms for performance. No plugins, no Flash, no WebGL required.
Data and privacy
North Game World does not collect personal data. The platform does not use analytics tracking, advertising pixels, or third-party cookies. The only data stored is what you explicitly put into a guest profile (a nickname you choose) and your game high scores — both stored in your own browser. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
